Preserve your wig
The right gestures for a wig that lives long, beautifully.

- Detangle gently, from tips to root
- Wash with a mild shampoo every 10–15 wears
- Dry flat or on a styrofoam head
- Store on an appropriate stand
- Avoid sulfate shampoos
- Don't sleep with the wig on
- No salt or chlorine water without protection
- Avoid excessive heat on synthetic wigs
The gestures that make the difference
Brushing
Use a soft-bristle brush or a wide-tooth comb. Always start at the tips and slowly work up toward the root, holding the strand to avoid pulling on knots.
Storage
After each wear, place the wig on a styrofoam head or a mannequin stand. This preserves the cap shape and lace line, and prevents creases in the hair.
Overnight
Never sleep with the wig on. When traveling, keep it in a firm box with a satin net to limit friction.
Attachments
Gently remove clips or adhesive every night. Prolonged pressure on the same area can weaken the cap and hairline.
Washing your wig, step by step
Every 10 to 15 wears for daily use, less often for occasional wear.
Detangle
Comb the wig dry, strand by strand, before wetting it. Wet hair is three times more fragile.
Rinse in lukewarm water
Under a gentle stream, along the length. Never hot water — it dulls the fiber.
Mild shampoo
Dilute a hazelnut-sized amount of sulfate-free shampoo in a bowl of water. Apply with fingertips, without rubbing the cap.
Nourishing mask
On the lengths only, never on the lace. Leave on 10 minutes then rinse in lukewarm water.
Blot
Wrap in a microfiber towel. Never wring the wig: press gently.
Air-dry
Flat on a towel or on a styrofoam head. Avoid direct sun and radiators.
Heat, styling and texture
Human hair
Flat iron and curling wand up to 180 °C / 355 °F, always with a heat protectant free of heavy silicones.
Synthetic hair
No direct heat unless labeled 'heat friendly'. Prefer steam to restore the shape.
Roots & part
Do not brush the parting line too harshly. Use a tail comb to reposition the part.
Light products
Silicone-free serums, alcohol-free mists, light oils. Skip mousse, rigid hairsprays and alcohol-based gels.

Your most frequent questions
Can I wash my wig with tap water?
+
Yes, if the water is not too hard. If it is, finish with a filtered or bottled water rinse to preserve shine.
What if the tips get dry?
+
Apply a hazelnut-sized amount of mask or light oil on the tips only, twice a week. An atelier visit can restore the fiber more deeply.
Can I swim with my wig?
+
Yes, with a swim cap and a protective spray. Rinse immediately with clear water after swimming.
The lace darkens over time, is that normal?
+
That's prolonged skin contact. A gentle atelier cleaning and a re-tint solve it.
Can I take my wig to another hairdresser?
+
We do not recommend it. Each wig has its own structure; atelier care preserves both the cut and the lace.
